Shipping & Delivery
What kind of items can I ship? Are there any size or weight limits?
You can ship almost anything! We have no minimum or maximum size or weight limits. Our customers frequently ship everything from important documents, medicines, and supplements to clothing, electronics, and even spare parts for cars and machinery.
How long will it take for my package to arrive in Addis Ababa?
Our standard delivery timeframe is 5 to 7 business days from the day we accept the item at our US office. In many cases, packages arrive even sooner.
I don't live in the Washington D.C./Maryland area. Can I still use your service?
Absolutely. You can mail your package to our office in Silver Spring, MD, using any domestic carrier (like USPS, UPS, or FedEx). Once we receive it, we will register it under your name and manage the international shipment to Addis Ababa for you.
Do you deliver to cities in Ethiopia outside of Addis Ababa?
Currently, our service is focused on delivery to our office in Addis Ababa. Once the package arrives, the recipient can pick it up from our convenient Meskel Flower location. We also offer a local delivery service for a small fee to any address within Addis Ababa.
Pricing, Payment & Insurance
How is my shipping price calculated?
The price is determined by the package’s weight or its dimensional weight (a standard industry calculation based on size). For a precise price, please bring your item to our office.
What payment methods do you accept?
We offer flexible payment options for your convenience. We accept Cash, major Credit/Debit Cards, Cash App, Zelle and others.
Is my shipment insured?
Yes. We provide basic insurance coverage for all small to medium-sized items, meaning we will replace or pay the equivalent value if lost or damaged. For larger, high-value items, you can purchase full insurance coverage for a premium of 10% of the item’s declared value.
Special Services
What happens if my package needs a tax payment at Ethiopian customs?
Our team in Addis Ababa will handle it smoothly. They will notify the recipient and provide two options:
Self-Clearance: We provide your recipient with the official customs paperwork, and they can go to the airport to pay the tax and clear the item themselves.
Full-Service Clearance: For your convenience, our team can pay the tax and handle all the processing for you. The recipient would then reimburse us for the tax amount (based on the receipt) plus a service fee.
How does the Personal Shopper service work?
It’s simple. If you want to buy an item from a US retailer like Amazon or Walmart but don’t have a US payment method, just send us the details. We will purchase the item on your behalf, have it sent to our office, and ship it to you in Addis Ababa.
What is the fee for the Personal Shopper service?
We charge a service fee of 15% of the item’s purchase price. Please note this fee is separate from the international shipping cost.
